Biblical Bards

Is it necessary for you to play music, even though you certainly don't fit into the music industry?
Do you have a Biblical orientation, but don't fit into most churches?
Do you believe that music can be a force for good in this world?

Do you want music and ministry with more depth, and don't find it often enough?
Do you want music and musicians who relate to what life is about?
Do you think that too much music is "Fluff?"

Would you like to help build the Kingdom but see a lack of good contractors in some ministry specialties, like music?
Do you have a venue, and want presenters and performers with more depth?

Here is your site.
Welcome home!

BARD:
A Spiritually oriented community resource person who integrates history, healing, and music.
It is written, "without a vision the people perish."
And without Bards, a culture fragments, alienation sets in, the stories
lose their dynamic.  Music deteriorates.  Cultures become elitist.  Bards are a primary source of cultural renewal!

BIBLICAL BARDS is a small, dispersed community of people who work as Bardic professionals and follow Scripture to the best of our understanding.

Welcome to the World of Biblical Bards!

"I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come
the praises of Yahweh, and his strength,
and his wonderful works that he hath done."
- Asaph, Psalm 78, Tanakh

"You piper, you hornblower, you roving music maker,
you who know the whole land, you belt without a knife, you storyteller."
-Mac Liag, circa 1000 A.D. (turning an insult into a motto.)

OUR MISSION and ongoing WORK:
- aid in the study of the culture presented in the Scriptures.
- aid in the implementation of that culture. (being doers not hearers only.)
- demonstrate, from the scriptures, the importance of the bardic ministry.
- equip biblical bards.
- connect with folks who would benefit from the ministry of such bards.
- create, aid, or encourage participation in venues for such activities.
- provide gentle music for weddings, conferences, banquets, social service agencies, and congregations.
- correct such misconceptions as are relevant to our mission.
- build bridges among faith communities.

We always strive to make this a dynamic website and a fellowship of folks.
